1. I really liked this movie! It was a great choice. I really liked how motivating it was. It made me want to go the extra mile with everything I do. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone. This movie was not only a great way to incorporate the meaning of teamwork, but also a way to show the meaning of how true dedication pays off.
2. Miracle on Ice is a story about how the underdog team overcame many challenges and won the olympic gold medal. This true story is a great way to better understand how hard work and dedication really pays off. During this time in 1970 Russia was predicted to win the gold medal. Also, at this time it was the peak of the cold war so Russia thought they had this olympic win in the bag. America pushed themselves and really committed to the sport. USA shocked everyone with their huge win and they became one of the most respected hockey teams after that.
3. A similar event that is a bit more depressing is 9/11. Though it was a horrific event in our history it really showed how America can come as one and try to change our society drastically. This event brought many people together, and I feel like America as a whole saw how we could really evolve into one nation.

1. I really enjoyed this film!! It was one of my favorites so far! It was a great way to show what exactly happened back then and how Jackie Robinson made such a difference for all African Americans and for baseball in general. This was a great film and I really enjoyed every part of it.
2.Yes, I think Jackie Robinson helped our country. He made a huge movement for equality and for all African Americans in general. He really paved the way for many baseball players in the future. What we can learn from people like Jackie Robinson is to always stay confident with who you are and how you can make a difference. Even if everyone is trying to bring you down, we have to keep our heads up high and prove them wrong. We have to be the example and the difference, and we have to do something that will change the world and make it a little bit easier for others in the future.
3. Jackie's values are many that I take to heart. Staying strong and focused and keeping your mind set to what has to be accomplished can be one of the hardest things to do but, at the end of the day you'll feel so accomplished once you achieve your goal. Also, working with others and always doing your best are two key values that stood out to me. It can be very hard to work with others and get along with others but, "killing them with kindness" sometimes is the best thing you can do to be the bigger person in the situation. Always doing your best is one of the things that can be very hard to live by. Going that extra mile and putting your mind and body through tough situations are hard, but that one goal that keeps you going makes it all worth it in the end.
4. This quote means that if you haven't made a difference throughout this process sometimes the whole journey is not even worth it. I agree with this quote. This quote is an example of how you can change the world and impact many peoples lives. If you set a good example and if you do the right things in your life you are even closer to making a change and impact in the world and possibly in someones life.

Cinderella Man
1. The title of the movie was Cinderella Man because you don't think that Jimmy is going to be a great boxer but he ends up becoming the best in the world, he was the underdog and really showed everyone all of his potential. Yes, I really liked the story! It was such a great message and such an amazing story. I did like James Braddock. He really tried to whatever he could do to provide for his family and for himself. James kept fighting for a new and better life for his family and never gave up. Unemployment is a big issue that a lot of families and it also was for the Braddock family. The issue isn't as major as it was back then, but it still affects tons of people. Today, more families have a better hold on money and also there are a lot of better job opportunities and more options for people. The issues today aren't as focused on unemployment, but more on human rights. Our children will face still the same ones that we are dealing with today. Equality problems( possibly), money, and social class problems I believe.
2. Yes, I would steal for my family if it meant that my family would get to eat a better meal, and if it meant that my family would stay together for a longer period of time. I would obviously feel bad about this and feel that it was wrong, but if the circumstances were that serious I would do whatever it would take to help my family survive.
3. The filmakers I think portrayed Max Baer correctly. As we talked about in class every movie needs that "villain character". Yes it was wrong for them to make Max Baer evil and not himself but, it was the best decision for the movie. No I do not think it took anything away from James Braddock in any way. James was the whole story and you really got his point of view fully and by adding Max into the story in that way just made the whole story come together.
4. When James went into Madison Square Garden to ask for money I think it was such a huge step for him. He showed his true character and he let all of his ego and everything go away and he really just focused on providing for his family at that moment. I found this courageous scene very admirable to his character. It showed a great deal of confidence and fearlessness. This moment portrayed him as a come back man and story. He really showed his true colors. No one had faith in him and he showed that he could be a man and start his career over and be a great dad and family man.

Tombstone
1. I have mixed feelings about this movie. Yes, it was suspenseful at many points but overall it didn't grab my attention. The wild west movies aren't really my favorite genre, and it didn't really keep my attention. The movie was realistic and really showed what life was like with cowboys in the West. I didn't feel a connection with the characters, and they weren't relatable to me. This movie is a great choice for anyone who likes to watch what life was like back in the West, and how people dealt with their problems with each other.
2. I believe what makes an event legendary are the people who are in the event and the circumstances that surround the cause. The main thing that makes a person a legend is the act that they accomplish and their actions span over decades to come not just for that moment. Yes, I believe Wyatt Earp was a legend through this whole movie. He really stood out and really did something to change the circumstances between the cowboys and through the town. Wyatt made a change and always stood behind his actions. He fought for everyone and himself. He made a difference and that is why his actions would be considered legendary to me. The part of the Wild West that appeals to me is the sneakiness of all of the men and women in the town. No one knows who is going to shoot and when, and what major event could happen next. Its very suspenseful and it keeps you on your toes, and I thought that was very intriguing.

Glory
I enjoyed this movie. I didn't love it but I enjoyed it. This was a great way to show how the 54th Massachusetts Regiment came into play and how so many things evolved from it. The movie always kept me on my toes and I was never really bored of it. I liked the realness of the movie and how the movie really displayed the true events happening. I give these soldiers a lot of credit for being so brave and committed during this time. Personally, it would be very hard for me to still fight while everyone around me was getting shot and dying. I would defiantly recommend this movie to others. It's a great way to learn about the 54th Massachusetts and it really shows you the true events and you kind of start to become part of the movie by the end.
I believe people are willing to die for their country because they feel so strongly about the cause that they are fighting for. These soldiers risk their lives so that others can have more opportunities which I think is a heroic thing in itself. Also, our country gives many people many opportunities and these brave men and women fight for their lives I believe to return the favor in some way. Yes, I think the men of the 54th Massachusetts are heroic and so is Shaw. In both cases they risked their lives to give more opportunities to the African American community and to show that everyone is equal. Shaw stood up for what was right and didn't look back! He knew what he had to do and he wanted to accomplish his goals and I believe he did.
This story is very significant because it was a big step for African Americans fighting on the front line. This was never really thought about until the 54th Massachusetts came into play. This was significant because it was a chance for African Americans to move forward in the battle for freedom. The 54th Massachusetts truly proved that these brave men would do anything for their country and will fight until the end as long as they have made an impact on society. This showed that with great power comes great strength. These men trained and mentally prepared for the battles and fought until they couldn't fight anymore. Their heroic actions are ones that will be remembered forever.
