Hurt Locker

1. I really enjoyed this movie! It was a little intense, but overall I enjoyed it. At some points it was a little too suspenseful for me. It was a great choice to display the real lives of what these soldiers have to go through everyday. I really didn't know how much these soldiers go through each day. I would recommend this movie to people who like action and true stories about war.

2. Hurt Locker is the traumatic stress these brave soldiers are put through. The pressure that they are under, and the lives that they are living within the front line all describe the hurt locker. Also, it can mean the mental and physical pain these soldiers are going through.

Captain Phillips

1. I loved this movie!! It was such a great choice, and it is one of my favorite movies of all time!! I thought it was so interesting how the pirates took control of everyone in a matter of seconds. I was at the edge of my seat the whole movie, and I was engaged the whole time. The details and the main plot was very well done and directed. It was a great movie and I would definitely recommend this to others(which I have).

Argo

1. I really enjoyed this movie a lot! It really kept me on my feet and interested the whole time. It was very well done and really captured during that time, and how serious and suspenseful these moments were for these people. The characters were very believable and it all seemed so real. I would definitely recommend this movie to others. It was a great way to better understand the hostage situation going on in Iran, and the complications that went along with the whole plan. It was one of my favorite movies and I would highly reccomend this to others.

Apollo 13

1. I really likes this film! It was great choice. The suspense within the movie was amazing and I was sitting on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie. I would definitely recommend this movie to others!! It is a great thrill and it's a very good representation of the challenges of this mission. It was so intense in the how the whole mission went along. Personally, I never knew that there was that much work that had gone into a mission and how many major and minor things can easily go wrong.

2. NASA's budget should be maintained because there are so many pieces and parts that go into making one mission go off perfectly. Yes, the budget is very very high but I do think that it's needed for the type of work that these brave men and women do. This funding should continue also, because there is no other way for everything to be set off perfectly without this large amount of money backing them up.

3. I think that the U.S. has gone along way within the past years. I personally think that it's just a very unpredictable situation to be in and it's also scary. But, I think that we rushed many things because we were in major competition with other countries, and that's why we might of had some technological problems throughout the missions. I wouldn't say we shouldn't worry about being in competition with other countries but we should focus on ourselves and how we can make safe travels, and how we can build something that we can rely on and it will turn our amazing!!

Parkland

1. I really enjoyed this movie! This movie was a great and very accurate representation of what actually happened on the day of JFK's assassination. Parkland has been one of my favorite movies that we have watched within this class. This movie was very well directed, and the way they showed the play by play of what happened on that tragic day was very, very well done. I would definitely recommend this movie to others! It was a great movie, and after watching it you really understand what truly happened on the day of his assassination.

2. I interviewed my step dad about the day of JFK's assassination.
- My step dad was at his house on the day of the assassination. He was off of school that day because it was a teacher work day.
- My step dad went around to all of his neighbors houses, and told all of them about what had just happened to JFK.
- He said that everyone was very shocked about that day. He was very young when the news came out, but it still was shocking seeing everyone's reactions to the news.
- It's such a debatable topic he said and you could go any way with it, but yes it has to be a conspiracy theory. This was all planned very precisely, and the killer knew exactly what he was doing.
- Kennedy always was a positive person and did a lot of great for our country. He had young kids at the time and it all seemed like such a perfect family life. Kennedy was looked up to by so many, and very well respected which made him even more of a role model to most of America.

The Pianist

1. I really enjoyed this movie! It was a great choice for documenting such a harsh time period. This movie was an amazing way of displaying the theme of how if you keep on having a positive mindset you will survive the harshest times. I agree with how just the small things can keep you going and help you stay alive and happy. If you think of the happier times and how things can be once the rocky part of your life is over with it just keeps you going and keeps you pushing forward.

2. Hosenfield saw that Szpilman was in such a deep state and he had nothing left, and I truly think that he felt bad for him. He saw how bad of shape he was in and he wanted to help. Also, he realizes that he is an unbelievable piano player and he has a remarkable talent, and he wouldn't want to detour someone from what they love and what makes them happy. I think that he saw that playing piano and thinking about music was the one thing that kept him going through this very, very terrible time period. After he played the piano, Hosenfield also realized that he shouldn't be marked as a jew and tortured because of that, and Hosenfield saw him at that moment as just another human. He saw him as someone who needed help and who was doing whatever he could to stay alive.
- Szpilman saw that for once after all of these horrible Nazis killed many people and tortured numerous amounts of people that this one person saw him not as a Jew but as a true piano player, and as a real human. As the war was dying down he realized that there still are good people in the world and knew what he was doing was wrong, and I think Szpilman knew he felt guilty so he put his trust into him because he saw for once that he wasn't someone who was out to get him just because of his religion, and he truly wanted to help him and save him.

Defiance

1. I really enjoyed this movie! It clearly depicted what happened throughout that period of time. The way the jews were treated was horrible, and their survival story was remarkable. This movie was a great way to clearly show how the jews survived within the forest. The Bielski brothers were great heroes and did whatever they could to make sure their community survived. I would definitely recommend this movie to others! It's a great story about bravery and about how if you stick together through tough times things with eventually get better.

2. This quote means that they escaped the harshness of the concentration camps where they would of most likely died, and then they escaped and most of the jews in the forest ended up living. Their revenge is them living. They survived and they escaped what could of ended their lives at any moment.
- Yes, the two can coexist. They all had to depend on the little amounts of food and warmth they all had but they learned how to fight in battle and hunt for their food. These brave men, women and children were living and fighting for themselves after escaping what would of been a harsh way to die.
-Yes, within these circumstances revenge is an act of humanity. These horrible humans were controlling mass amounts of people and not caring how many they killed while doing so. The Bielski brothers led everyone to survive and escape these camps, and by doing so they got revenge from the Nazis. The jews showed them that they didn't need to be controlled and that they could live proudly as jews and not be beaten down everyday.
